Protocol in case of infection

Dear students,

We would like to inform you that the NIJZ (National Institute of Public Health) adopted a new protocol for epidemiological inquiry on October 8, 2020. The NIJZ is still dealing with all people with a confirmed infection through an epidemiological inquiry, but it is not looking for contacts of confirmed cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection in student dormitories and higher education institutions until revoked. For this purpose, the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport (hereinafter: MIZŠ) prepared a procedure, which is published on the website of the Directorate for Higher Education.

The decision on whether or not an infected person must be placed in isolation is made by a personal or treating doctor (emergency centre) according to the health condition of the infected person; a doctor decides whether to send the infected person to home isolation, a dormitory or COVID accommodation facilities.
Accommodation in COVID accommodation facilities is determined only by a doctor. A doctor must fill in the appropriate form, which he submits to the Ministry of Health, which regulates medical transport to these facilities. The student must give the consent that is part of this form. For emergencies, the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport has translated the form and consents, which are available on its website in Slovene (Obrazci) and English (Forms) in Word format. (The forms and consents have been officially translated by the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports and submitted to the Ministry of Health; there is a possibility that the health centres will not have them, so you can find them at: https://www.gov.si/drzavni-organi/ministrstva/ministrstvo-za-izobrazevanje-znanost-in-sport/o-ministrstvu/direktorat-za-visoko-solstvo/
The transfer to the facilities of the Ministry of Health is only temporary; these are already very limited and have been used only because of the urgency of the given situation.
The doctor decides whether the student should be isolated at home or at another location (if the conditions are met, it is also allowed to be isolated in a student dormitory).
